Hadiyah Sama is an aspiring author based in Surrey, England. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Brunel University of London, and a BA in English and Creative Writing from the same establishment. One day she hopes to become a published author; until then, she spends her time reading, writing, and crying over cats and fictional characters.

Hadiyah writes books that feature BIPOC leads, with many books focusing on the recurrent themes of anti-colonialism, resistance, and found family.

She currently works as a librarian with an interest in YA and Children’s Fiction.

Hadiyah’s novel Spears in the Dark was long-listed in the Times/Chicken House Children’s Novel Competition 2023!
